Company History
Thomco was founded in 1984 by Jim Thompson, our current president and CEO.
When Jim started the business in his home, he first served the market as a specialty industrial distributor of 3M™ adhesives and tapes. The success of the business led Jim to move the business out of his basement and into a near-bye office park. Over the years, Thomco continued to grow, adding other lines.
By the late 1980s, Jim and his team decided to expand into manufacturing by adding equipment to die-cut tapes. Our converting division was born, and its’ success led to further investment in manufacturing equipment, such as flexographic printing presses, and other finishing equipment.
By 2007, we had outgrown our previous plant and moved into our current 61,000 square foot distribution and manufacturing facility.
Today, Thomco is a long way from where we started. We are an ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Registered converter, a 3M Preferred Converter, a 3M Authorized Industrial Distributor, a 3M Authorized Distributor for Graphic Products, and a Loctite Certified Equipment Showroom Distributor. Over 70 employees work at our headquarters in Suwanee, Georgia, and at our second distribution facility in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
Thomco serves customers nationally and globally. We are financially strong and poised for continued growth.
"Our success can be traced to our values which are to provide great products at good prices, superior technical support, the best service in our industry, and honest, fair dealings with our customers, suppliers, and employees."
